Return’s Policy

Gear Up Cycles’ return policy lasts 30 days from the date of purchase. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange.

In certain circumstances we may be able to offer you a credit note to the value of the purchase made.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging. A valid proof of purchase should also be provided for us to process the claim.

Unfortunately, we cannot refund any delivery charges or associated cost in connection with the purchase, unless there is an error on our side.

Several types of goods are exempt from being returned. Perishable goods such as bicycle inner tubes and tyres cannot be returned, unless they developed a fault. For hygiene and safety reasons, we also do not accept products that are intimate or sanitary goods, hazardous materials, or flammable liquids or gases.

Items that have been altered or customised in any way will need to be inspected, as customisation may void your warranty and therefore items may not be covered. In any instance, please contact us directly. Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer.

There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted: (if applicable)

Any item not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error.

Any item that is returned more than 30 days after purchase or delivery

Under the Consumer Rights Act of 2015 you have an early right to reject goods that are unsatisfactory quality, unfit for purpose or not as described, and get a full refund. But this right is limited to 30 days from the date you took ownership of the goods (this could be the date of purchase or the date the goods were delivered to you - whichever is later). After the initial 30 days, you can't demand a full refund in the first instance, but you still have the right to a repair or replacement

REFUNDS (if applicable)

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you confirmation to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.

If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days.

LATE OR MISSING REFUNDS (if applicable)

If you haven’t received a refund yet, double check your bank account. Next, contact your credit card company or bank as it may take some time before your refund is officially processed.

If you’ve done all of this and you still have not received your refund, please contact us at info@gearupbirmingham.co.uk.

EXCHANGES (if applicable)

We only replace new items if they are defective or damaged. If you need to exchange it for any other reason, send us an email at info@gearupbirmingham.co.uk. Please include your full name, email address, order ID or transaction ID (if you made a purchase directly from our Cycle Hub) If possible, then please attach a copy or image of purchase receipt.

*Please note; we do not service or repair e-bikes that are not compliant with UK law. This is because non-compliant e-bikes are legally classed as motor vehicles, meaning they require type approval, registration, insurance, and a licensed rider to be used on public roads. Working on or modifying such bikes could make us liable for safety and legal issues, including potential breaches of vehicle and product regulations. To protect our customers and ensure we meet our legal and safety obligations, we only work on e-bikes that meet the UK’s Electrically Assisted Pedal Cycle (EAPC) standards. This also applies for E-bike conversion kits, with the exception of officialy recognised brands such as Switch for example. Regardless of a booking made, you will be turned away upon arrival should your bike not adhere to this.

*We also reserve the right of refusal to work on on bikes that do not have at least two independently working brakes. This is the legal minimum required to ensure the rider can stop safely and maintain control of the bike. However if the brakes are to be installed/repaired to meet this standard as part of the booked service, this does not apply and will be more than happy to continue with repairs.
